Virus Bulletin October Cert Goes to BitDefender

BitDefender today announced that BitDefender for File Servers antivirus received the VB100% certificate from Virus Bulletin. The certification stands for a 100% detection rate for viruses included in Virus Bulletin magazine's wildlist.

The certification has been for years regarded as one of the definitive guidelines for the performance of an antivirus product. BitDefender's HiVE (Heuristics in Virtual Environments) engines have shown their worth once again, achieving more than 99% detection rates in the "zoo" test, which pits antivirus products against viruses which have not been released in the wild.

"This is something of a good omen for the Virus Bulletin conference beginning today, where we just showed a presentation regarding the fight against new computer threats. I am happy for the dev team, and wish to congratulate them on another success." declared Bogdan Dumitru, BitDefender CTO.
